Embedded Engineer

Mercor is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to collaborate with a leading AI research lab and contribute to the development of intelligent systems that understand and reason about electrical and electronic design. You will apply your domain knowledge in circuit design, embedded systems, power systems, control theory, or signal processing to train advanced AI models that mirror real engineering workflows. You’ll work alongside AI teams to simulate how electrical engineers design, troubleshoot, and optimize complex systems—from microcontrollers and PCBs to grid-level power infrastructure and control logic.

You are an ideal candidate, if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience in
• electrical or electronics design, development, or testing
• Hold a PhD in Electrical engineering or related field from top a US university.
• Have strong understanding of nuclear systems design, reactor physics, and related frameworks.
• Have strong attention to details
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
• Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
• Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Compensation and Legal Details

• You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
• We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
