Role Description

Join our team as an Embedded Engineer  - Robotics and play a pivotal role in transforming the landscape of technology. This position offers the unique opportunity to delve into complex challenges, applying your engineering expertise to design and coordinate hardware and software platforms working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated industry experience in coordinating the design and execution of a product development program from prototype to mass production is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and support firmware and software for embedded CPU and MCU systems
  • Own embedded firmware aspects of complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers and software engineers to build a reliable bridge between intelligent computers and the physical world
  • Design test software for manufacturing
  • Support assembly and bringup activities of hardware
  • Support compliance activities and analysis to ensure product quality and human safety
  • Contribute to deployment readiness , including testing feedback loops, documentation, and test support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (vendors, contractors, and clients) as needed


Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, electrical engineering, or related discipline
  • 2 year industry experience in embedded systems or software development role
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python
  • Proficiency in communicating with cross-disciplinary stakeholders for taking mechanical or electrical measurements, describing behavior, etc.
  • Experience in electronics, sensor and actuator integration
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively to colleagues
  • Ability to work with external stakeholders such as vendors and clients
  • Proficient in AI-powered agentic workflows such as Claude Code, Codex, etc.


Ideal candidate traits

  • Previous robotics experience


This is an on-site position, requiring in-person presence at our office in Oakland, CA and/or client site in San Francisco, CA.   May require travel to client deployment sites such as in Texas.


Compensation | Benefits
  • $116K - $140K annual salary
  • Company-paid premiums for health, dental, and vision
  • 401k plan with matching.
