Job Summary
Cummins is seeking an experienced Embedded C++ Developer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for off-highway vehicle applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, Linux-based development, and real-time embedded systems, with experience in the off-highway, construction, agricultural, or heavy-duty equipment domain.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software applications using C and C++.

Develop software for embedded controllers and electronic control units (ECUs) used in off-highway equipment.

Participate in software architecture, design reviews, coding, debugging, and integration activities.

Develop and troubleshoot software in Linux and real-time operating system (RTOS) environments.

Interface with hardware components and communication networks including CAN, J1939, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C.

Analyze software defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Support software validation, verification, and system integration activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, and validation engineers.

Create and maintain technical documentation and follow software development processes.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in Embedded C/C++ development.

Strong experience with Embedded C++ (C++11/C++14/C++17 preferred).

Experience with Linux and embedded software development.

Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, J1939, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Git, Jira, and software configuration management tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the
Off-Highway, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, Heavy Equipment, or Commercial Vehicle
domain.

Experience with ECU software development and embedded control systems.

Knowledge of AUTOSAR and functional safety concepts.

Experience with Python scripting and automation tools.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD environments.
