Job Description

Our client is an international medical imaging device company with headquarters in Germany and operations across Europe and North America. As they continue to expand their engineering team, they are seeking an experienced Hardware Development Engineer / Electronics Engineer to support the development of next-generation imaging technologies.


Please note: This is a primarily on-site position based in the vicinity of Passau, Bavaria (Germany) , with hybrid working available where appropriate.


The role


As a Hardware Development Engineer , you will be responsible for the design and development of electronic hardware for medical imaging systems, with a particular focus on video signal processing electronics. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, verification, and product release.


This position offers significant autonomy, exposure to modern hardware technologies, and collaboration with international project teams across multiple time zones.


Key responsibilities


  • Design and develop electronic hardware and circuits for video signal processing within medical imaging systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies into product development activities.
  • Analyse, commission, test, and verify electronic assemblies and complete hardware systems.
  • Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout development.
  • Coordinate hardware development activities across international project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of hardware design processes and engineering standards.


Required experience and qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics or hardware development, ideally within the medical device industry.
  • Strong experience in electronic circuit design and hardware development from requirements through to verification.
  • Experience designing and validating complex electronic systems.
  • Experience with Fusion 360 is highly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating engineering projects and working with international teams is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Fluent German and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
