Electronics Engineer (NPI / Product Development)

Location: Torreón, Coahuila, México

Sunstrong International México is looking an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead new product introduction (NPI), product development, and engineering support for high-power electronic products. The successful candidate will act as the technical interface between customers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition from concept through prototype validation and mass production.

This position requires strong technical expertise in PCBA development, EMS manufacturing, power electronics, and design for manufacturing (DFM), along with excellent customer communication skills and the ability to support international projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electronic product development from concept, prototype, validation, pilot build, and mass production.
• Provide technical support throughout the entire Product Development Process (PDP).
• Review customer specifications, schematics, BOMs, Gerber files, and manufacturing documentation.
• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for electronic assemblies.
• Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) reviews.
• Conduct PCBA design analysis and recommend design optimization to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
• Support prototype builds, engineering validation, and process optimization.
• Analyze product failures using Root Cause Analysis methodologies and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with customers to resolve technical issues and provide engineering support throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain during product industrialization.
• Support production line readiness and engineering documentation before mass production.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer visits.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, IPC standards, and company quality systems.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to product design, manufacturing efficiency, and yield improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
• Proven experience with PCBA development and electronic product industrialization.
• Strong knowledge of the complete Product Development Process from concept to mass production.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Solid understanding of SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), DFA, and design optimization.
• Experience with high-power power supply design or power electronics is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Customer-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).
• Valid U.S. Visa and Passport.
• Availability to travel internationally.
