Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer – New Product Development (NPD) to join our team in Dublin, California. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in embedded hardware design, mixed-signal and high-speed systems, FPGA-based development, motor control, and advanced PCB design. Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with regulatory standards such as IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 will be highly valued.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams across onsite and offshore locations to deliver innovative, high-quality products within defined timelines, while ensuring compliance, reliability, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and translate customer requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Design and develop electrical and electromechanical systems and subsystems for new products.
  • Lead end-to-end engineering activities from concept development through production release.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and global stakeholders.
  • Integrate quality and regulatory requirements into all stages of product development.
  • Contribute to project planning, including proposals, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions aligned with project milestones.
  • Coordinate effectively with offshore engineering teams and external vendors.
  • Support product validation, testing, documentation, and regulatory compliance activities.
Required Skills and ExperienceHardware Design & Development
  • 10–12+ years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware circuit design.
  • Strong expertise in analog, digital, and mixed-signal hardware design.
  • Experience in linear and switch-mode power supply design.
  • Proficiency in microcontroller, microprocessor, and FPGA-based system design.
  • Experience working with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit architectures.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed design and signal integrity principles.
PCB Design & Simulation
  • Hands-on experience in schematic capture and PCB layout design.
  • Mandatory experience with Xpedition PCB Design Tool .
  • Strong knowledge of PCB layout principles, including component placement and routing.
  • Experience in Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and simulations.
  • Understanding of design implementation, programming interfaces, and hardware integration.
Motors & Motion Control
  • Experience in designing DC motor-based systems with feedback and control mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of high-speed motor control systems and related electronics.
Software & Communication Protocols
  • Strong proficiency in C programming (mandatory).
  • Working knowledge of C++ is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with serial and parallel communication protocols.
  • Understanding of wireless communication systems and Ethernet interfaces.
Testing, Reliability & Compliance
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with pre-compliance and certification testing in collaboration with test laboratories.
  • Skilled in functional, module, and system-level testing.
  • Knowledge of stress analysis, derating, power budgeting, and reliability calculations.
  • Proficient in debugging using analog and digital test equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex hardware systems.
Documentation & Product Lifecycle Management
  • Experience managing BOMs, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with medical Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) and configuration management.
  • Experience in product teardown analysis and competitive/market research.
  • Strong documentation skills using Microsoft O365 tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as IEC 60601 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience working in global/onsite-offshore development environments.
  • Previous onsite experience in the United States is highly desirable.
