About the role
As an Electronics Engineer / Practical Engineer specializing in Electro-Optical (EO) Systems, you will be responsible for hands-on bring-up, debugging, repair, testing, and calibration of electronic boards and EO systems designed by ASIO. The role combines practical lab work, board-level troubleshooting, close collaboration with electrical board designers and board manufacturers, and integration work with mechanical engineering teams.
You will use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and other measurement tools to identify, analyze, and resolve board-level issues, perform fixes on electronic assemblies, support environmental testing, and create and execute calibration processes for electro-optical systems. This is a hands-on engineering role that requires strong technical discipline, practical problem-solving skills, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in electronic board bring-up, debugging, and system integration.
Responsibilities
-
Perform bring-up and debugging of electronic boards designed by ASIO for EO systems.
-
Use oscilloscopes and other lab equipment to troubleshoot analog, digital, power, and interface-related issues at board and system level.
-
Perform board-level fixes, modifications, rework, and validation according to engineering guidance and technical requirements.
-
Work closely with electrical board designers to investigate failures, provide practical feedback, and support design improvements.
-
Coordinate with electrical board manufacturers and assembly partners to support production, troubleshooting, and quality-related activities.
-
Perform and support environmental testing of electronic boards and EO systems, including preparation, execution, monitoring, and issue analysis.
-
Collaborate with mechanical engineers on system integration, installation constraints, thermal considerations, cable routing, and assembly-related issues.
-
Create, document, and perform calibration processes for electro-optical systems and related electronic assemblies.
-
Document test results, failures, corrective actions, calibration procedures, and production-support activities.
-
Support continuous improvement of lab workflows, production readiness, and hands-on engineering processes.
Qualifications
-
Electronics Engineer degree or Certified Practical Electronics Engineer qualification (יג-יד) with relevant hands-on experience.
-
At least 5 years of relevant experience in electronic board bring-up, debugging, repair, testing, and integration.
-
Strong hands-on experience working with electronic boards, including troubleshooting, measurements, modifications, and validation.
-
Proficiency using oscilloscopes and standard electronics lab equipment for board-level and system-level diagnostics.
-
Experience working with electro-optical systems, embedded electronics, cameras, sensors, or similar multidisciplinary systems.
-
Experience working with board designers, PCB manufacturers, assembly houses, or electronics production teams.
-
Ability to perform practical board fixes, rework, and failure analysis in a structured and documented manner.
-
Experience with environmental testing and calibration processes for electronic or electro-optical systems.
-
Good documentation skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a hands-on lab and production environment.
