Job Description

This is an opportunity to join the expanding team within Radiotherapy Physics providing clinical scientific and engineering services to the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department currently has a Managed Services Contract with Ergéa to provide a comprehensive radiotherapy service to the people of Norfolk. The radiotherapy equipment consists of five linear accelerators all with multi-leaf collimators, CBCT and electronic portal imaging, 2 CT-simulators, Eclipse treatment planning system, orthovoltage unit and Bravos High dose-rate brachytherapy afterloading machine. The Department is fully electronically networked and largely paper-free.

The role will have a fixed working pattern associated with it and the hours of work will be from 06:45 to 14:45, Monday to Friday.

The Study Leave Policy, as issued by the NNUH, is to be followed relating to attendance at Courses, etc. Details of this can be provided on request.

As Post Holder, Your Duties Will Include

  • Maintain and service all radiotherapy equipment.
  • Fault find and carry out emergency repairs to all radiotherapy equipment.
  • Perform safety and quality assurance checks on all radiotherapy equipment.
  • Keep up to date records of all service work, repairs and QA checks.
  • Liaise with Radiographer and Radiotherapy Physics scientific staff in respect of machine performance to ensure safe radiotherapy treatment.
  • Participation in maintaining the Departmental ISO9001:2015 quality system including review of procedures, writing of work instructions, carrying out audits.
