Job Description

Company Description Sapien-Tech helps factories and industrial operations prevent unexpected machine breakdowns by using AI to predict equipment failures before they happen. By analyzing data already generated by industrial machines, Sapien-Tech identifies early warning signs so maintenance teams can act before production is disrupted. The company’s roots in hands-on industrial automation and large-scale equipment programs mean its solutions are designed for real-world factory environments rather than lab conditions. Sapien-Tech follows a clear three-step process—diagnose downtime, pilot predictive solutions, then deploy and operate—delivering measurable savings and extended equipment life. Operating across the UK, EU, and Gulf region, the company serves sectors such as oil and gas, refineries, and smart-factory initiatives with strong regional partnerships.

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Electronic Engineer at Sapien-Tech. The Electronic Engineer will design, develop, and optimize electronic circuits and systems that support AI-driven predictive maintenance solutions in industrial environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing circuit schematics, selecting and integrating electronic components and sensors, performing simulations, and collaborating with software and data teams to ensure accurate data capture from machines. The role also involves testing and validating prototypes, troubleshooting hardware issues, documenting designs and test results, and supporting deployment on client sites in collaboration with implementation teams. The engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of hardware architectures to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance in harsh industrial settings.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with experience applying these disciplines in industrial or automation contexts.
  • Proficiency in Circuit Design and practical Electronics, including schematic capture, PCB design, component selection, and sensor integration.
  • Hands-on Testing skills for electronic systems, including lab measurement, validation, troubleshooting, and reliability testing under industrial conditions.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (software, data science, operations) and communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with industrial automation, control systems, or instrumentation is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, industrial Ethernet) is an advantage.
  • Comfort working remotely, managing time effectively, and supporting international projects across multiple regions and time zones.
