Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electronic Engineer role based in Colombo. The Electronic Engineer will design, develop, and maintain electronic systems and equipment that support printing, publishing, broadcasting, and digital operations. Daily tasks include creating and reviewing circuit designs, troubleshooting hardware issues, and coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance for production and office electronic systems. The role involves performing functional and reliability testing on electronic components, documenting test results, and implementing improvements to enhance performance and minimize downtime. The Electronic Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and technicians to ensure that all electronic and electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electronics, with the ability to design, implement, and support complex electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Circuit Design, including schematic creation, component selection, and basic PCB layout or review.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles as they relate to power distribution, safety, and integration with electronic systems.
  • Experience in Testing electronic and electrical equipment, including test planning, execution, documentation, and troubleshooting based on test results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic and following masters degree of applied electronic (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with technicians, IT staff, and operations teams.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices in industrial, printing, or media environments is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Colombo and support occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance as needed.
