Job Description

Electronic Architect – Connected Devices, Wifi & Embedded Systems

Remote (with occasional onsite visits)

Long-term contract through to the end of 2027

Sentinel is partnering with a global leader in industrial technology to deliver the next generation of connected products. We're looking for an experienced Electronic Architect to play a key role in designing a scalable, modular electronics platform that will power future connected solutions.

This is an opportunity to shape the architecture of an innovative plug-in module that transforms standalone products into intelligent, connected devices with advanced wireless capabilities, efficient power management, and seamless digital integration.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and develop the electronic architecture for a next-generation connected platform.
  • Design scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective hardware architectures for future product generations.
  • Lead architecture decisions across hardware, firmware, connectivity, and cloud interfaces.
  • Review and challenge electronic schematics, ensuring robustness, manufacturability, EMC compliance, reliability, and cost optimisation.
  • Develop architectures for WiFi-enabled devices, including connectivity, security, provisioning, and integration into digital ecosystems.
  • Drive advanced power management strategies, including RTC integration, sleep modes, and low-power operation.
  • Collaborate across hardware, firmware, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and backend teams to ensure successful system integration.
  • Establish structured approaches to defect tracking, root cause analysis, and system-level troubleshooting.

What we're looking for

✔ Strong background in electronic systems architecture and embedded electronics

✔ Expertise in analogue, digital, and embedded hardware design

✔ Experience with WiFi, wireless communication, and connected device architectures

✔ Knowledge of power management, low-power design, and RTC-based architectures

✔ Ability to review electronic schematics with a focus on quality, reliability, and manufacturability

✔ Systems-thinking mindset with experience delivering complex multidisciplinary products

✔ Excellent problem-solving skills with experience driving root cause analysis across hardware and firmware

If you're passionate about designing robust electronic architectures and want to make a lasting impact on the future of connected industrial products, we'd love to hear from you.
