The Electrical Engineer II focused on the design, development, and support of both electrical hardware and embedded software for Culligan’s residential, retail, and commercial water treatment products. This individual will contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze moderately complex analog and digital circuits, including regulated power supplies, sensor interfaces, and communication modules (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
- Select appropriate components based on system requirements, performance, and cost.
- Create schematic capture and full PCB layout using Altium.
- Build and test prototypes, conduct design validation, and support transition to production.
- Ensure hardware designs meet relevant safety, EMC/EMI, and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, FCC).
- Develop embedded software for microcontroller-based systems, including system-level architecture, control logic, sensor data processing, and communication protocols ensuring modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Perform software integration, unit and regression testing to validate functionality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot firmware issues using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers; optimize code for performance and resource efficiency.
- Generate and maintain electrical design documentation, BOMs, test reports, software requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
- Work closely with mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure cohesive product development.
- Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle—from concept and design through testing, release, and field support.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and knowledge sharing.

- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and/or computer science.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering design/development including electrical hardware circuit design, PCB layout and embedded software.
- Proficiency in programming/debugging in C/C#/C++/Python language and compiling source code.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical 3D models and P&IDs.
- Proficiency in using PCB layout software and basic CAD to create circuit & PCB drawings.
- Proficiency in building prototype hardware and test equipment with direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Target Salary Range: $89,000 - $99,000 salary a year with the opportunity for eligible employees to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for competitive benefits, including paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, disability benefits and 401(k).

We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
