How You Will Contribute
The main responsibility of the firmware designer is to design and implement the low level software required to control the DSP assisted coherent optical modem. It also includes development of all the tools and interfaces required to support the integration, test and verification of the product. As part of a wider development team, the candidate has to interact and collaborate with many designers from different teams to provide the optimum solutions that improve the product performance and quality.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
๏ง Design and implement firmware control loops.
๏ง Participate in product evolution by providing innovative solutions.
๏ง Support other team member with their activities.
๏ง Provide test and calibration tools.
๏ง Provides tools to help with the debugging and verification of the product.
๏ง Participate with the product integration.
๏ง Assist various teams with debugging.
Verify firmware robustness and performance in various environments

๏ง A minimum of one year study in CS, CE, EE or equivalent.
๏ง Knowledge of C real-time software development on embedded operating system.
๏ง Knowledge of html, JavaScript and Java is an asset.
๏ง Hardware exposure and lab environment experience.
๏ง Knowledge of control loops.
๏ง Strong analytical and debugging skill.
๏ง Work easily in collaboration with other.

The pay range for this position is $24.50-$33.00/hour

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation โ making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
Weโre looking for a true legend โ someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. Youโll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. Itโs your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
