Job Description

We are a defense technology company developing autonomous unmanned systems for military and security applications. The Hardware Design Engineer joins a small, high-output engineering team working on the full development cycle of a drone interceptor platform, from initial concept through to prototype qualification. The role sits at the intersection of structural design, system integration, and manufacturing engineering, with direct responsibility for hardware that will undergo field testing and customer evaluation. The work environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with short iteration cycles and close collaboration across software, electronics, and flight systems disciplines.


Position : Drone Hardware Engineer

Type : Full-time/100% Remote


Tasks:

  • Design and develop mechanical assemblies and structural components for unmanned aerial systems, from concept through production-ready documentation;
  • Perform weight optimization and structural analysis to meet flight performance requirements;
  • Develop integration mechanisms for actuators, rotors, cameras, and control surfaces;
  • Create manufacturing drawings, parts lists, and technical specifications for internal use and external suppliers;
  • Evaluate and select manufacturing processes suitable for low-volume production and rapid prototyping, including CNC machining, 3D printing, and composite layup;
  • Build and test hardware prototypes in close coordination with embedded software, flight control, and AI Teams;
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with external manufacturing partners and suppliers;
  • Document design iterations and derive improvements based on test results;
  • Support qualification activities and customer-facing technical reviews.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent);
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC machining, or composite manufacturing);
  • Understanding of lightweight design principles and structural mechanics;
  • Ability to create manufacturing-ready technical drawings and documentation;
  • Willingness to work hands-on in a workshop Environment;
  • Good written and spoken English skills;
  • Structured, independent, and goal-oriented work style.
