Job Description

Position Summary

The DRAM Firmware / Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing, validating, and integrating DRAM drivers for SSD firmware platforms. This role requires expertise in DRAM architecture, DDR4/DDR5 protocols, memory initialization, validation, debugging, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and integrate DRAM drivers for SSD firmware platforms.
  • Understand DRAM IP on the controller side and develop and validate:
  • Read Training
  • Write Training
  • Gate Training
  • Write Leveling
  • Develop expertise in DRAM PHY IP and configure it.
  • Develop expertise in DRAM ECC and support validation activities.
  • Develop expertise in DDR4 and DDR5 protocols.
  • Configure DDR4/DDR5 mode registers and validate register settings.
  • Develop and validate DDR4/DDR5 initialization sequences.
  • Develop and validate DRAM power states and refresh policies.
  • Develop test procedures and tools for DRAM validation and debugging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams.
  • Document requirements and track schedules related to product development activities.
  • Guide debugging efforts and drive resolution of DRAM-related issues.


Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in firmware, hardware, memory systems, or related engineering fields.
  • Experience may be obtained through a combination of professional work experience, research, internships, and academic projects.

Required Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of DRAM architecture, operation, and integration.
  • Proficiency with memory testing tools and software.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, high-speed signal fundamentals, and simulation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment including:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Power supplies
  • Soldering equipment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong planning, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Strong hardware or firmware project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
