Job Description

Automotive Robotics Engineer (Remote, Curitiba Focus)

Rex.zone connects engineering talent to teams building production-grade robotics and AI systems for modern vehicle programs. This role is Remote ; “Curitiba” is used as a location focus/SEO modifier and may reflect timezone overlap preferences rather than an onsite requirement.

Role Overview

You will design and deliver robotics capabilities spanning robot-assisted manufacturing and autonomy-adjacent perception modules. The work includes integrating sensors and perception models, building simulation-first validation loops, and hardening systems for reliability, latency, and safety. You will also partner with data operations teams to improve training data quality for perception (annotation guidelines compliance, QA evaluation, and dataset audits) and support LLM-assisted tooling workflows for debugging/reporting where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop robotics software components using ROS2, C++, and Python for automotive robotics systems
  • Build perception pipelines: camera/LiDAR preprocessing, detection/tracking interfaces, and sensor fusion
  • Implement motion planning and control loops; tune performance for real-time constraints (latency, reliability)
  • Create simulation and test harnesses (SIL/HIL) to validate edge cases and regression performance
  • Define data collection and labeling requirements to improve perception model performance through data-centric iteration
  • Support training data quality initiatives: annotation guidelines compliance, QA evaluation, and dataset audits
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet safety validation and release criteria
  • Document architectures, test results, and operational runbooks for deployment and monitoring

Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience in robotics or automotive software engineering
  • Strong C++ and Python; experience with ROS2 and robotics middleware
  • Understanding of computer vision and sensor fusion fundamentals
  • Experience with simulation, test automation, and performance profiling
  • Familiarity with safety validation concepts and engineering quality processes
  • Comfort working with AI/ML evaluation signals (training data quality, labeling feedback loops)

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone with your resume and a portfolio (GitHub, demos, or case studies). Emphasize production constraints you’ve solved (latency, reliability, test coverage) and your experience validating robotics systems in simulation and real-world testing.

Salary shown in this feed: $30–$50 per hour (base).
