Associate/Experienced Embedded Software Engineer (Hardware Emulation)

Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a high potential Associate/Experience Embedded Software Engineers (Hardware Emulation) to join our Software Engineering team in Seoul, Republic of Korea. This work includes developing emulations of key embedded systems for use on multiple platforms for Boeing commercial and defense products. Specifically, this role will be an individual who will contribute to activities related to the development and integration of test environments, virtual machines, models and simulations in the creation of high-fidelity digital twins.Â
Primary Responsibilities:Â
- Be able to work independently or as part as a teamÂ
- Design, implement, and maintain QEMU-based device and platform models; integrate and validate software components (firmware, drivers, and applications) to provide accurate and performant system-level emulation, including automated tests and CI pipeline support.Â
- Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metÂ
- Supports software project management and software supplier management functionsÂ
- Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metricsÂ
- Performs software research and trade studiesÂ
- Troubleshoots software issuesÂ
- Works under general supervisionÂ
Required Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 2 to 8 years of experience in embedded system software development.Â
- Experience with ARM, PowerPC, or x86 microprocessor architecturesÂ
- Experience in Windows, Linux and real-time operating systemsÂ
- Experience programming with C/C++Â
- Experience working in an Agile software development environmentÂ
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and KoreanÂ

Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Hands on experience in Virtualization technologies, e.g. KVM, QEMUÂ
- Experience with Computer Architecture fundamentals, including microprocessor, instruction set, memory hierarchy, memory mapped I/O, interruptsÂ
- Experience with embedded system peripherals and protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS-232, SATA, IDE, PCI, and flash memoryÂ
- Experience with development or debugging of bootloadersÂ
- Experience with networking protocolsÂ
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664Â
- Familiar with scripting languages, e.g. Python, BashÂ
- Familiar with Git and with software development in Visual Studio CodeÂ
- Understanding of Socket, Pipes, Shared memory, Process, ThreadsÂ
- Understanding of docker containers and DevSecOps techniquesÂ
- Strong passion for developing high-quality productÂ

Location:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at BKETC office and the listed location site.
Travel:
Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
