Job Title: R&D Engineer / Solutions Engineer – Power Electronics & Energy Storage (Italy-Based)

Location: Bologna, Italy

Employment Type: Full-time Consultant (Contract via Hong Kong entity)

About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated engineers to join our team and work on-site at a client company in Bologna, Italy . In this role, you will collaborate closely with the local client team on R&D, solution development, delivery, and project implementation. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in high-power power electronics – including energy storage PCS, motor drives, SST (Solid-State Transformer), and related fields .

Candidates with recent master's graduates who have hands-on R&D experience during their studies are also welcome to apply. Please note: one-year taught master's programs without a research component will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical bridge between the local client team in Italy and the domestic R&D team in China.
• Lead overall system architecture design for SST and other high-power power electronic converter products.
• Conduct electrical schematic design , control strategy simulation , and component selection for power electronic converters.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation , product specifications , and support product family planning .
• Participate in prototype development , debugging , type testing , and fault analysis of high-power electronic products.

Candidate Profile

Education:

• Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power Electronics , or related fields.
• Candidates must have practical R&D experience during their master's studies (one-year taught programs without a research component are not eligible).

Experience:

• Background in high-power power electronics product development.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
• SST (Solid-State Transformer)
• Energy Storage PCS
• High-voltage frequency converters
• High-voltage SVG
• Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics is a plus.
• Open to fresh graduates with relevant research experience.

Languages:

• Fluent English (must be able to work as a working language).
• Italian is a strong plus.
