Job Description

Role Title: Embedded Application SME


Experience Range: 8–15 years


Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in ECE/CS/EE or related field


Role Summary:

An Embedded Application SME is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining application-level software that runs on embedded systems. They build user-facing or service-level functionality on top of system software, ensuring efficient performance, reliability, and interaction with underlying hardware and middleware.


Key Responsibilities:

• Define architecture and technical roadmap

• Lead design, development, and integration

• Performance tuning and optimization

• Ensure quality, reliability, and scalability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW/SW/Product)

• Mentor engineering teams and review designs

• Engage with customers and define solutions

• Responsible for System Integration and feature implementation and validation


Detailed Skills & Competencies:

• Strong system design and architecture expertise

• Proficiency in C++/Python OOPs concept is mandatory and Data structures

• Debugging, profiling, and root cause

• Experience using Linux commands, process handling, File handling, system programming and RTOS concepts.

• Experience in API development i.e RESTful APIs, gRPC, API design principles, Experience in Serialize/deserialize data i.e JSON, Protobuf, XML formats.

• Experience in memory management, Bootloaders, interrupt handlers.

• Platform software debugging using GDB/JTAG debugger

• Knowledge on Device driver development (GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, etc) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS,ARP,etc)

• Participate in code reviews, contributing to and upholding best Programming practices

• Knowledge on Harware interaction and decoding data transfer between user and kernel space for application and system level control and data messages


Tools & Technologies:

Linux, GDB, Dmesg, tcpdump,profiling tools - perf, journalctl, f/s/l- trace,valgrind, Git, SVN, GNU C/C++ build tool chain, Protocol analyzers, logic analyzer, Wireshark, Python, Exposure to Tech Automation Tools and Techniques


Domain Expertise:

Semiconductor product engineering / embedded systems / distributed systems for Storage, networking, multimedia, industrial automation/control
