Who We Are
At RTX BBN Technologies we invent new science by applying radical cross-disciplinary techniques to prototype systems in order to prove concept viability. This is especially evident in our Physical Systems and Sciences group, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where scientists and engineers anticipate the future in both very large and very small-scale scientific systems that often need to survive challenging operational environments.
What You Will Do & Learn
We are seeking qualified and eager interns to become an integral part of this work. You will join a project team designing, analyzing, and prototyping innovative multi-domain system architectures.
You will contribute to creating new algorithms and paradigms in critical areas such as positioning, navigation and timing, communication and networking, and detection and classification within extremely harsh or hostile environments. You will learn strategies for both free form thinking and disciplined application. You will hone your oral and written presentation skills. You will work with extraordinarily skilled team members, from project leadership to fellow interns.
Qualifications You Must Have

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline (i.e. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field)

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Classroom, project, or prior internship experience in design, simulation, analysis, and/or implementation

Classroom, project, or prior internship experience programming in one or more modern languages (i.e. C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Bash, etc.)

Classroom, project, or prior internship experience working with circuits and components; knowledge of how to safely solder components and use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and analyzers

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
