About Us

We are a leading global intelligent manufacturing and high-end test equipment company headquartered in China, with a dedicated R&D center in Silicon Valley focused on cutting-edge high-speed optoelectronic and communication technologies. Our small, agile team of ~10 professionals brings together top talent from leading global tech companies and universities. We have stable funding, long-term customer partnerships, and a flat organizational structure that empowers engineers to take full ownership of impactful projects.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Optical-Electronic Engineer with a PhD degree to join our core Silicon Valley team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines deep technical leadership with end-to-end program ownership. You will work closely with our cross-functional R&D teams and serve as the primary technical interface with our strategic global customers. The position offers exceptional flexibility, with primarily remote work and only occasional onsite meetings at our Silicon Valley office.

Key Responsibilities

Own programs end-to-end, driving custom test system and optoelectronic projects from kickoff through delivery

Coordinate cross-functional R&D, hardware, and software teams to ensure technical alignment and on-time execution

Track project milestones, dependencies, and technical risks, proactively resolving blockers to keep delivery on schedule

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for strategic customers, leading high-level technical discussions and status reporting

Provide expert guidance on test system architecture, optical and system-level design, and validation & verification (V&V) strategies

Analyze and interpret analog/digital circuit designs OR optical system/opto-electronic subsystem designs, contributing to overall system architecture, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

Drive R&D initiatives in high-speed data communication and apply findings to advanced optoelectronic applications

Provide hands-on support for system bring-up, debugging, performance tuning, and customer-facing technical demonstrations

Qualifications

Required

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline

Deep expertise in either (a) analog and digital circuit design or (b) optical system/opto-electronic design, with working familiarity in the other domain

Proficiency in high-speed communication and control protocols such as SPI and USB

Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) for effective communication with our global headquarters and customers

Proactive, hands-on engineering mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills for customer-facing technical interactions

Preferred

Combined expertise in both electrical and optical domains

Experience with optical system design, optoelectronics, or active alignment techniques

Track record of building custom test systems from concept to deployment

Previous experience interfacing directly with enterprise-level strategic customers

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary starting at $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications (no upper limit for exceptional candidates)

Full visa sponsorship for qualified candidates: we support H-1B work visa and green card (permanent residency) applications

Exceptional work flexibility: primarily remote work, with only 1-2 required onsite meetings per month at our Silicon Valley office

Comprehensive health insurance coverage

Generous paid time off and holiday schedule

Clear career advancement path with opportunities for technical leadership roles
