Position: RMA – Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Duration: Contract
Experience Required: 7+ Years
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Hardware Design Engineer to support the design, validation, failure analysis, and continuous improvement of ECU hardware systems used in Electric Vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in hardware debugging, validation, and sustaining engineering with a focus on product reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support deployed hardware systems to ensure reliability and field performance
• Lead root cause analysis of returned or failed hardware systems (RMA) and implement corrective actions
• Drive design improvements to enhance efficiency, manufacturability, and scalability
• Develop and execute validation and test plans to ensure compliance with performance and industry standards
• Perform circuit debugging, signal analysis, and high-speed hardware validation
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and mechanical teams for system integration and product success
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of hardware design and development experience, preferably within automotive or EV domains
• Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design
• Hands-on experience with PCB and schematic tools such as Altium, Cadence, or OrCAD
• Solid understanding of Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and Thermal Management
• Experience with high-speed interfaces and protocols including Ethernet, PCIe, MIPI, and GMSL
• Proven expertise in hardware validation, testing, and circuit-level debugging
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
