Job Description

Kenotom develops mission critical embedded systems with focus on motor control, power distribution and battery management applications, and in compliance with the strictest industrial standards. Our main engineering activities lie in the area of low level drivers for μCs, function and diagnostics software development, hardware design, validation and verification. Since the beginning in 2014 we have established several partnerships with some of the largest automotive electronics suppliers and we are currently expanding into the space sector.

In order to strengthen our team we are looking to immediately hire 1 highly motivated Senior Hardware Engineer .

Overview

The hardware design of mission-critical embedded systems is a demanding procedure, requiring a deep understanding of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators and power electronics and must take into account their harsh working conditions, demanding requirements concerning reliability and compliance to several industrial, environmental and safety international standards. Additionally, rigorous testing of the functionalities is a key element to meet international levels of safety, since such electronics that fail in the field are an active hazard to human life. The testing procedures must be rigorous, with a high sense of responsibility and with great attention to detail.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

1.    HW design and layout for mission-critical applications, (e.g. automotive, space)

2.    Worst-case analysis, power loss calculations, measurement error propagation, worst-case and end-of-life (EOL) components analysis, and safety goals decomposition

3.    Thorough SPICE simulations aimed at worst-case coverage, as an additional method for design validation

4.    Review and study of a wide range of automotive and space technical standards, used as reference guidelines for HW design, applied methods, and validation testing

5.    Electrical and EMC pre-compliance testing activities for HW, in accordance with automotive processes and standards.

6.    Analysis, definition and review of HW requirements and HW test specifications

7.    Comprehensive documentation and reporting related to the aforementioned activities

The candidate will be responsible for working as a part of a large development team with other engineers to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained and problems encountered during the development process are resolved. The position is based in Thessaloniki, GR and occasional travel to the customer’s premise may occur.
