Elocity is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer to join its India hardware engineering team based in Udaipur (Rajasthan). This is a senior, hands-on power electronics role responsible for the design, development, and validation of power conversion hardware used across Elocity's EV charging product line. The ideal candidate brings at least 15 years of direct experience designing and bringing to production DC-DC converters, AC-DC converter modules, inverters, and related power electronics, and will play a lead technical role in advancing Elocity's charging hardware platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Power Electronics Design
• Lead the design, simulation, and development of DC-DC converters, AC-DC converter modules, and inverter topologies for EV charging hardware.
• Define power stage architecture, including topology selection, magnetics design, thermal management, and component selection for high-efficiency, high-reliability power conversion.
• Own schematic design, design reviews, and hardware bring-up for power electronics subsystems.
Development & Validation
• Drive prototyping, bench testing, and validation of power converter and inverter designs against electrical, thermal, EMI/EMC, and safety requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis and design iteration for power electronics issues identified during validation, certification, or field deployment.
• Work with EMI/EMC and safety certification bodies to support compliance testing for power conversion hardware.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate power electronics subsystems into complete HIEV hardware products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams on design-for-manufacturing (DFM), component sourcing, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior hardware engineers and review their design work.
Documentation & Process
• Produce and maintain design documentation, including schematics, bill of materials, test reports, and design verification records.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) processes from concept through to volume production.
Required Skill Set
• At least 15 years of hands-on experience in power electronics hardware design and development.
• Demonstrated experience designing DC-DC converters, AC-DC converter modules, inverters, and other power electronics for production hardware.
• Strong working knowledge of power converter topologies, magnetics design, thermal management, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Proficiency with power electronics simulation and design tools (e.g., SPICE-based simulation, PCB design tools).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience taking power electronics designs from prototype through to certified, manufactured products.
