Job Title: Senior Embedded Video Systems Engineer – Automotive Camera & Audio

Location: Peachtree City, GA 30269 (Hybrid)

Contract: Long-term, Renewable.

Your Mission

Lead the implementation, integration, bring-up, debugging, and optimization of automotive camera, video streaming, and embedded Linux platforms supporting the wireless camera initiative and future advanced engineering camera programs.

Provide deep technical expertise spanning embedded Linux, BSP development, video transport technologies, wireless networking, serializer/deserializer integration, camera interfaces, and system-level troubleshooting. Work closely with OEM customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop, validate, and demonstrate camera and video solutions from concept through prototype validation.


A DAY IN THE LIFE

PEOPLE: Lead technical discussions with OEM customers, suppliers, and development partners. Coordinate technical activities across Systems, Software, Hardware, and Validation teams. Provide technical leadership for embedded Linux, camera, video, and networking integration activities. Support customer reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and technical workshops. Collaborate with suppliers and customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues. Support development activities across global teams and multiple time zones.

PROCESS: Define and manage technical requirements, interfaces, and integration plans. Perform hands-on system bring-up, debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution. Support prototype development, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Develop architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical documentation. Track technical issues, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans. Support technical feasibility studies and proof-of-concept activities.

PRODUCT: Lead embedded Linux BSP development and platform integration activities. Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot camera sensors, serializers, deserializers, and video transport technologies. Develop and optimize GStreamer-based video streaming solutions. Integrate and debug Linux video pipelines utilizing V4L2 and related multimedia frameworks. Support camera sensor bring-up and Linux device driver integration. Develop and optimize wireless video transport solutions utilizing Wi-Fi networking technologies. Analyze and optimize video latency, throughput, bandwidth utilization, CPU loading, and overall system performance. Support integration of Linux display frameworks, including DRM/KMS. Support development activities utilizing NXP, TI, Renesas, Qualcomm, and similar automotive platforms. Participate in prototype demonstrations, customer evaluations, and technical reviews.

BUDGET: Support project planning and technical execution schedules. Provide engineering estimates for development activities. Support cost, schedule, and risk management activities as required.

GENERAL: Prepare technical reports, architecture documents, presentations, and status updates. Interface directly with OEM customers and suppliers. Support domestic and international collaboration activities. Perform other technical leadership duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, automotive electronics, camera systems, video systems, or related technologies.
  • Strong Embedded Linux development experience.
  • Experience with BSP development and Linux platform integration, including Yocto, U-Boot, Device Tree modification, Linux device drivers, Linux system integration, and system bring-up.
  • Experience with camera and video integration technologies, including:
  • V4L2 (Video for Linux), MIPI CSI/DSI, LVDS, I2C, serializer/deserializer configuration, camera hardware integration, GStreamer, FFmpeg, H.264 encode/decode, GStreamer pipeline development, appsrc/appsink, video latency optimization, DRM/KMS display frameworks, Wi-Fi, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, TCP/IP, UDP.
  • Experience performing hardware/software integration, debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to independently investigate technical issues and develop practical solutions.


Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automotive camera systems, wireless camera solutions, trailer camera systems, rear-view cameras, surround-view systems, or vision-based applications.
  • Experience with automotive video transport technologies, including FPD-Link III, FPD-Link IV, and GMSL.
  • Experience with automotive SoC platforms, including NXP i.MX, TI Jacinto, Renesas, or Qualcomm solutions.
  • Experience with automotive infotainment systems, Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), Automotive Ethernet, CAN networking, and connected vehicle architectures.
  • Experience with CPU/GPU performance analysis, system optimization, and multimedia performance tuning.
  • Experience working directly with automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
