Job Description:
Our client, a global pioneer in advanced technology, precision satellite positioning, and industrial machinery, is seeking a high-caliber GNSS Navigation Algorithm Engineer to join their specialized R&D team in Torrance, CA. In this senior-level role, you will apply in-depth GNSS navigation algorithms and estimation theory to spearhead the research, development, and implementation of next-generation navigation products. This position bridges the gap between complex mathematical estimation models and real-time embedded software architectures, playing a vital role in delivering high-accuracy positioning solutions for autonomous machine networks.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Algorithm Design & Integration:
Apply advanced GNSS navigation algorithms, positioning methodologies, and estimation theory to design, test, and document complex navigation features.
-
Embedded Coding:
Implement high-performance algorithm solutions using C/C++ targeted for resource-constrained real-time embedded systems.
-
Peer Reviews:
Actively lead and participate in rigorous peer reviews of software designs, mathematical algorithm structures, and low-level firmware code implementations.
-
System Diagnostics:
Collaborate closely with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers to rapidly isolate, diagnose, and resolve deep system defects and sensor calibration anomalies.
-
Technical Documentation:
Maintain complex technical documentation, software specifications, and verification records to a high industry standard.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
-
Core Technical Expertise:
Demonstrated, hands-on experience developing and refining
GNSS positioning and navigation algorithms
(such as RTK, PPP, or sensor fusion frameworks).
-
Embedded Programming:
Advanced proficiency in embedded C/C++ coding practices, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and software architecture.
-
Estimation Theory:
Solid foundational knowledge of state estimation methodologies (e.g., Kalman filtering) applied directly to location or positioning systems.
-
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex mathematical concepts across multidisciplinary teams.
-
Education:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Geomatics, Aerospace Engineering, or a highly related technical science discipline.
Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
-
5+ years of dedicated industry experience working specifically on high-accuracy satellite positioning products, receivers, or autonomous tracking architectures.
-
Experience using Git version control and Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipelines for firmware release cycles.
