Job Description: Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer with strong experience in embedded Linux, wireless drivers, and firmware development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Wi-Fi driver development, Linux kernel customization, and Yocto-based embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize wireless driver solutions (primarily Wi-Fi) for embedded Linux platforms.
  • Customize and enhance Linux kernel and device drivers for performance, reliability, and security.
  • Integrate wireless stacks into Yocto-based Linux distributions.
  • Collaborate with hardware, system, and application teams to define requirements and interfaces.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across kernel, driver, and user-space layers.
  • Maintain and contribute improvements to wireless driver codebases.
  • Evaluate and integrate new wireless technologies and standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Strong expertise in Embedded Linux kernel development.
  • Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi driver stacks including mac80211 and cfg80211 .
  • Experience with Yocto Project and custom Linux distributions.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python scripting .
  • Good understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, WPA/WPA2 .
  • Experience with debugging tools including JTAG, logic analyzers, and kernel tracing tools .

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Bluetooth and other wireless communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of open-source wireless projects and upstream contributions.
  • Experience with secure boot, OTA updates, and embedded security.
  • Exposure to RTOS and multi-core embedded architectures.
  • Familiarity with wireless certifications and regulatory standards (FCC, CE).
