Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer role based in Houston, TX. The Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer will design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems, with a focus on ARM architectures. Daily responsibilities include developing and debugging low-level software, integrating firmware with hardware components, and collaborating with electrical and software engineering teams to define system requirements and interfaces. The role involves performing code reviews, optimizing performance and reliability, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices. The engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, support product validation and testing, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications

Strong expertise in Embedded Software and Firmware development, including real-time systems and low-level driver implementation.

Hands-on experience with ARM Architecture, microcontrollers, and related development environments and toolchains.

Proficiency in Debugging embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and in-circuit debuggers.

Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering concepts related to embedded hardware, schematics, and board-level bring-up.

Proven Software Development skills in C/C++ for embedded systems, including version control (e.g., Git) and structured development workflows.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with embedded RTOS, communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet), and bootloaders is highly beneficial.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, on-site environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Prior experience in safety-critical, industrial, or IoT products is a plus.
