Role Description
This full-time, on-site Senior Electronics Engineer role is based in the Greater Oxford Area. The Senior Electronics Engineer will design, develop, and optimize electronic circuits and systems for space-based solar power technologies, from concept through to detailed design and prototyping. Responsibilities include creating schematics, performing simulations, overseeing PCB layout, and conducting validation and verification testing to ensure performance, reliability, and safety. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, preparing technical documentation, supporting design reviews, and contributing to system-level integration and troubleshooting. The engineer will also mentor team members, help define best practices, and support continuous improvement across electronics design and testing processes.
Qualifications

Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with applied experience in complex systems.

Proficiency in Circuit Design and practical Electronics, including schematic capture, PCB design, and component selection.

Hands-on experience with Testing of electronic systems, including verification, validation, fault-finding, and use of lab equipment.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience working on power electronics, high-reliability or aerospace systems, or other safety-critical applications is highly beneficial.

Ability to interpret standards and requirements, write clear technical documentation, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of designs, work independently, and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Eligibility to work on-site in the Greater Oxford Area and to handle projects that may be subject to export control or security requirements.
