Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

This could be the perfect challenge if you have:

• Strong experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer , ideally within embedded, IoT, or industrial environments
• Good understanding of embedded systems, firmware, and hardware fundamentals
• Knowledge of common hardware interfaces and communication protocols
• Experience identifying security vulnerabilities in embedded or IoT devices
• Understanding of hardware and firmware security risks and attack surfaces
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and communication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP)
• Understanding of cybersecurity threats affecting embedded and connected devices
• Experience performing security risk assessments, preferably following recognised industry standards
• Ability to analyse security risks, document findings, and communicate recommendations clearly
• Experience working with ASPICE or similar development processes (valued)
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g. ISO 26262) (valued)
• Previous experience in safety-critical environments (valued)

Main responsibilities:

• Identify security risks and vulnerabilities in embedded and IoT systems
• Assess potential attack paths across hardware, firmware, and connected devices
• Perform security and vulnerability assessments to help improve system resilience
• Evaluate risks related to system architecture, firmware, and device communications
• Analyse network communication and connected environments from a cybersecurity perspective
• Conduct threat and risk assessments, defining potential threats and recommending mitigation measures
• Prepare security documentation, including risk assessments and security recommendations
• Work closely with hardware, software, and system engineering teams to integrate security best practices throughout the development lifecycle

Important Information:

1. For this opportunity, we are only able to consider candidates who are already based in Portugal and available to work remotely from Portugal , with the flexibility to travel to the client's offices when required.
2. Candidates must have valid documentation allowing them to work in Portugal.
3. For international candidates, we can only proceed with applications if the work visa or work permit process has already been initiated.
4. A minimum English level of C1 is required , as English is the working language used throughout the project and with the client.
5. Candidates must also have at least an intermediate level of Portuguese (minimum B1), as this is required to ensure an effective recruitment process. Applications from candidates who do not meet these language requirements cannot be considered .
