Job Description

#1 on ProductHunt. Over 10,000 AI agents generated worldwide within months of launch – that’s our voice AI agent platform Omakase.ai. The product has evolved with major updates including a voice+chat hybrid widget, a smarter recommendation engine, and Shopify integration. Monetization is live, and early ARR is tracking strongly. We’re confident in the trajectory for global impact — that’s why we’re hiring elite engineers to join us from Japan. Let’s scale a Japanese-born AI product globally!

About Omakase Robotics

Omakase Robotics (ZEALS Co., Ltd.) is building Omakase OS - software that enables humanoid robots to coexist and work alongside people. We focus on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) by integrating Voice, Vision, and Motion to create natural interaction inspired by Japanese hospitality ( Omotenashi ).

We work closely with leading humanoid robot platforms, including Unitree, with a mission to turn robots into reliable workers in human spaces .

Role Summary

We’re hiring a Robotics Software Engineer to improve real-world robustness of HRI and to integrate autonomous navigation capabilities on humanoid platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role spanning perception-to-action pipelines, safety, state machines, and sim-to-real validation.

Responsibilities

• Improve HRI stability and safety, including:

Sensor → estimation → action → safety-stop pipeline

State machines and behavior orchestration

Natural motion integration and verification

• Integrate autonomous navigation onto humanoid platforms, including:

SLAM and localization

Path planning and mobile control

(Optional) VLA-based navigation approaches

• Drive sim-to-real workflows:

Simulation validation, motion verification, and real-world tuning

Performance optimization and reliability improvements

• Collaborate across Vision, Motion, Navigation, and HRI to ship field-ready capabilities

Requirements

2–3+ years of robotics software development experience

• Strength in one of the following areas:

HRI / Motion Control: sim-to-real, simulation environments, state machines, safety control

Navigation / Locomotion: SLAM, path planning, mobile control

• Strong interest in Embodied AI and humanoid robotics

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment

Japanese: JLPT N2 level or above (or equivalent conversational proficiency)

Nice to Have

Experience with Unitree robots or similar humanoid platforms

• Experience with ROS/ROS2 , MoveIt, PyTorch, and/or RL frameworks

• Background in manipulation projects (e.g., pick-and-place) or HRI-focused systems
