Robotics Automation Engineer

Job Title: Automation Engineer – PLC, Robotics, Electrical & Motion Control

Location: Vadodara (Onsite / Field + In-house)

Experience : 2–4 Years

Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer to design, develop, program, and commission industrial automation systems including pick-and-place machines, robotic gantries, conveyor systems, and continuous material handling setups.

This role combines PLC programming, electrical control systems, motion hardware, robotics integration, and onsite commissioning . It is a field-intensive position involving approximately 50% client-site work and 50% in-house development .

The ideal candidate should have strong real-world experience working with machines, control panels, and automation systems—not just software.

Key Responsibilities

PLC & Control Systems

· Develop PLC programs from scratch (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, FBD)

· Design and implement control logic for:

· Pick-and-place systems

· Sorting systems

· Conveyors & material handling systems

· Troubleshoot and optimize PLC-based automation systems

Electrical & Panel Engineering

· Read and develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts

· Support panel wiring, validation, and testing

· Integrate sensors, encoders, actuators, and pneumatics into control systems

Motion Control & Drives

· Work with servo motors, drives, and VFDs

· Perform parameterization, tuning, and motion optimization

· Handle real-time motion control applications

Robotics Integration

· Integrate industrial robots (KUKA / ABB / Fanuc or equivalent) with PLC systems

· Coordinate robot motion with conveyor and handling systems

Industrial Communication

· Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols:

· Profinet, Profibus

· EtherNet/IP

· Modbus TCP/RTU

· RS-232 / RS-485

· EtherCAT

HMI / SCADA Development

· Develop and configure HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC, TIA Portal, Ignition or equivalent)

· Enable system monitoring, control, and diagnostics

Commissioning & Support

· Execute FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)

· Perform onsite installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

· Ensure reliable operation of 24×7 continuous industrial systems

· Provide post-deployment and remote technical support

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering

· 2–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation

· Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills

· Experience with:

· Motion control systems

· Conveyors & material handling

· Servo systems and drives

· Electrical schematic reading and control panel knowledge

· Onsite commissioning experience

Good to Have

· Robotics integration experience

· Vision systems exposure

· Embedded systems fundamentals

· MES / SCADA / data integration knowledge

· AutoCAD Electrical / panel design experience

Work Structure

· 50% Onsite (Client Locations): Commissioning, troubleshooting, deployment
