Job Summary**
The Quantum 1 - Laborer (Non-Driver) is an entry-level position responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons and performing general labor duties on various construction and utility projects. This role involves manual tasks, operating hand and power tools, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment, all while working as part of a dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform a variety of manual labor tasks, including digging, trenching, lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials.
* Assist skilled workers such as pipefitters, electricians, welders, and heavy equipment operators with their daily tasks.
* Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently, as directed.
* Prepare work sites by cleaning, organizing materials, and setting up equipment.
* Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
* Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
* Spot heavy equipment and vehicles on job sites to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
* Flag traffic and pedestrians around construction zones as required.
* Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a strong safety culture.
* Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to a supervisor immediately.
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.
Job Qualifications**
* No prior experience required; willing to train motivated individuals.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
* Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
* Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and OSHA safety regulations.
* Reliable transportation to and from job sites (driving is not a requirement of the job, but reliable transport is essential for attendance).
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as project demands dictate.
* Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
