Location: Chennai (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-time
Joining: Immediate
Industry: Electronics and Computers Manufacturing

About the Role
VIBETEX is looking for highly motivated M.Tech / PhD graduates to join our power electronics team in Chennai. The selected candidate will work on the development of next-generation GaN-based fast charging products, including a 65W/45W dual-port USB-C charger platform supporting USB PD 3.0, PPS, and STM32-based monitoring and protection systems.
This role provides complete ownership of the product lifecycle—from concept, circuit design, simulation, PCB development, prototyping, testing, validation, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-efficiency AC-DC power converters and fast charging solutions.
  • Perform circuit design for flyback converters, synchronous rectification, power factor correction (PFC), and GaN-based power stages.
  • Design analog and digital control circuits, sensing circuits, protection circuits, and communication interfaces.
  • Develop and validate USB Power Delivery, PPS, and Type-C charging architectures.
  • Create schematics, component selection, BOM generation, and PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Work with STM32 microcontrollers for system monitoring, fault protection, and product intelligence.
  • Perform circuit simulation, design calculations, thermal analysis, and efficiency optimization.
  • Build prototypes, conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Carry out electrical, thermal, EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety testing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and production ramp-up activities.
  • Interface with component vendors, PCB manufacturers, and contract manufacturing partners.
  • Participate in product certification activities including IEC, UL, CE, and related compliance requirements.
  • Document design decisions, validation reports, manufacturing procedures, and engineering change requests.

Required Skills
  • Strong fundamentals in Power Electronics.
  • Knowledge of SMPS, Flyback Converters, DC-DC Converters, PFC, and GaN Power Devices.
  • Understanding of USB Type-C, USB PD, and fast charging technologies.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PLECS, or PSIM.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, and STM32 platforms.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC, thermal management, and power system protection.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Why Join VIBETEX
• Work on a real product addressing charger reliability and in the fast-charging ecosystem.
• Direct exposure to product development, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and certification.
• High ownership role in an early-stage hardware startup.
