Job Description

TRG Manufacturing Search Division has been engaged to find a Principal Electronics & Firmware Engineer to lead the development of advanced vehicle control systems used in heavy-duty transportation and off-highway equipment applications. This company is making significant investments in modernizing its control platforms and developing world-class controller technologies that are helping shape the future of transportation and industrial equipment. As a senior technical leader, you will help define the technology roadmap for electronics hardware, firmware, FPGA architectures, and real-time embedded control systems supporting mission-critical products.



This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly technical engineer who enjoys solving complex system-level challenges and mentoring engineering teams. You'll influence future technology decisions, evaluate emerging technologies, guide system architecture, and help develop the next generation of embedded control solutions.



In this role, you will provide technical oversight from concept through production launch, mitigating technical risks and serving as a key technical authority across the organization. Success requires deep expertise in electronics hardware, firmware, FPGA, and real-time control systems, along with a proven ability to lead through technical excellence and innovation.



Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 20+ years of experience developing complex embedded electronic and electromechanical systems
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience guiding engineering teams
  • Deep expertise in electronics hardware, firmware, FPGA, and real-time control systems
  • Strong background in system architecture, product development, and design reviews
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA technologies and embedded control platforms preferred
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical innovation
  • Experience in rail, automotive, aerospace, defense, heavy equipment, or industrial controls environments highly valued
