Principal Electronics Engineer

Long-Term Project
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the design and development of aerospace electronic hardware from concept through production.

Design and develop:
-
3-Phase AC/DC Power Converters
-
Variable Frequency Motor Drives (VFMDs)
-
28V DC Valve Controllers
-
Motor control electronics for ACIM and BLDC motors
-
Develop and validate control algorithms using
MATLAB/Simulink
.
-
Perform circuit simulation using
SPICE (PSpice/OrCAD)
.
-
Design magnetics including
EMI filters, boost/buck inductors, transformers, and input/output filters
.
-
Create hardware architecture, schematic designs, and interface documentation.
-
Perform component selection, derating analysis, thermal analysis, worst-case circuit analysis, and performance margin analysis.
-
Support PCB layout, board bring-up, hardware debugging, and functional verification.
-
Develop Design Verification Test Procedures (DVTP) and Design Verification Test Reports (DVTR).
-
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to deliver robust aerospace products.
-
Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and support continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related discipline.

10+ years of experience in electronics hardware or power electronics design (principal-level experience preferred).

Strong experience designing
AC/DC and DC/DC power converters
.

Experience with
motor control electronics
, including ACIM and/or BLDC motor drives.
-
Hands-on experience with
MATLAB/Simulink
for modeling and control algorithm development.
-
Proficiency with
SPICE simulation
tools such as PSpice, OrCAD, or equivalent.
-
Experience designing
magnetics
, including EMI filters, inductors, and transformers.
-
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, PCB development, and hardware validation.

Experience performing circuit analysis, thermal analysis, derating, and hardware verification testing.
-
Ability to independently lead complex engineering projects and mentor engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Commercial aerospace or aviation electronics experience.
-
Experience with high-reliability electronic systems.
-
Knowledge of aerospace design standards and hardware development processes.
-
Experience working with Altium Designer and/or OrCAD.
