Principal Electronics Engineer

Our mission at Cloud Cycle is to reduce global CO ₂ emissions by 1% and save the construction industry billions of pounds in the process. We are making this huge impact by helping concrete suppliers deliver better quality concrete with much less waste.

At Cloud Cycle we are pioneering a data-driven technology platform that provides key insights to enable personnel in the global concrete supply chain to make informed decisions that drive quality and efficiency.

We have achieved our Series A funding round and have won several large government grants to support our product roadmap and R&D pipeline. We are scaling rapidly, and we need capable, creative, passionate, and motivated individuals to be a part of the Cloud Cycle mission.

The Role

This is a Principal role as part of the hardware team reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. It is an exceptional opportunity to develop your technical skills and have significant responsibility as the only electronics engineer on the team.

We have a small range of automotive products deployed internationally that include cellular, BLE, GPS and CAN. These are all under active development with new features and improvements every year. We also run research projects which often require custom designs. This role includes acting as the lead on compliance testing and working with our Contract Manufacturers to build the products. It requires someone pro-active who can take on responsibility for difficult problems and solve them.

Required Skills

·       A strong degree in Electronics

·       Expert at using Altium to design schematics, layouts and prepare BOM

·       Expert at practical electronics, debugging, using an oscilloscope, soldering

·       Experience of putting products through radio compliance and defining and managing that process

·       Experience of automotive power supply designs and the test requirements

·       Detail-oriented, careful, and able to work independently

·       Strong communicator using remote working tools

·       Excellent documentation skills

·       Experience managing suppliers and supply chains

Advantageous Skills

·       Experience using Linux BASH

·       Programming in C and Python
