Key Responsibilities:

· Design and development of high-efficiency DC-DC converter topologies (W to kW range)

· Generation and regulation of high-voltage outputs (V to kV range) for thruster operation

· Implementation of CV/CC control modes for stable and dynamic operation.

· Selection of power semiconductor devices based on performance and reliability.

· Optimization for high efficiency (>95%) and power density

· Design of protection circuits (OVP, OCP,OTP, short-circuit protection)

· Development of snubber and transient suppression circuits

· Implementation of high-voltage insulation and isolation strategies

· Hardware implementation: assembly, soldering, integration, and validation of power stage

· Handling nonlinear and dynamic load behavior of EP thrusters


Skills Required :

· Strong knowledge of high-efficiency DC-DC converter design and analysis for power levels ranging from watts to kilowatts.

· Experience in designing and regulating high-voltage power supplies for electric propulsion thruster applications.

· Understanding of Power Processing Unit (PPU/PPCU) architectures and spacecraft power distribution systems.

· Ability to develop plasma ignition and steady-state plasma sustain circuits for electric propulsion systems.

· Proficiency in CV/CC control implementation, feedback compensation, and power converter control techniques.

· Experience in selecting and driving power semiconductor devices including MOSFETs, SiC MOSFETs, GaN devices, and IGBTs.

· Knowledge of high-frequency magnetics design including transformers, inductors, and EMI filters.

· Ability to design protection systems such as OVP, OCP, SCP, OTP, arc detection, and fault management circuits.

· Understanding of thermal management, efficiency optimization, power loss analysis, and reliability engineering.

· Hands-on experience in hardware integration, testing, debugging, and validation of high-voltage power electronic systems.
