Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Research Development Electronic Engineer located in Mulshi. The role involves designing and developing electronic circuits and systems for analytical and control instruments, from concept through prototyping and validation. The engineer will perform laboratory testing, data analysis, and documentation to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams in mechanical design, software, and production, supporting integration of electronics into complete instrumentation solutions, and troubleshooting issues in existing products. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, preparing technical reports, and providing engineering support during installation, calibration, and customer service activities.
Qualifications
1. M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics
2. Specialization or strong knowledge in Radiation Detection, Nuclear Instrumentation, Electronics, or Detector Systems will be preferred.
Experience
1.Relevant experience in scintillator-based detector systems for gamma and neutron detection instruments .
2.Experience in radiation measurement, detector testing, calibration, and electronics integration will be an added advantage
Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and experienced M.Sc. Physics / Electronics professional with hands-on knowledge of scintillator detectors used in gamma and neutron detection instruments . The candidate will be responsible for supporting design, development, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of radiation detection systems.
Key Responsibilities
1.Work on scintillator detector-based gamma and neutron detection instruments .
2.Support the design, development, testing, and validation of radiation detection systems.
3.Handle scintillator materials such as NaI(Tl), CsI(Tl), LaBr₃, plastic scintillators, Li-6/ZnS, CLYC , or similar detector materials.
4.Integrate scintillators with PMT, SiPM, photodiodes , and associated electronics.
5.Work with detector electronics including preamplifiers, shaping amplifiers, ADCs, MCAs, pulse processing circuits , and data acquisition systems.
6.Perform gamma spectroscopy, neutron detection, pulse height analysis, pulse shape discrimination , and energy calibration.
7.Conduct detector testing using standard gamma and neutron sources as per safety procedures.
8.Analyze detector performance parameters such as energy resolution, efficiency, linearity, background response, count rate, sensitivity, and stability .
9.Support calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of instruments.
10.Prepare test reports, technical documentation, user manuals, and calibration records.
11.Coordinate with design, production, quality, and customer support teams.
12.Ensure compliance with applicable radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements .
Required Skills & Knowledge
1.Strong understanding of nuclear radiation detection principles .
2.Knowledge of gamma and neutron interaction with matter .
3.Experience with scintillator detectors and photodetectors .
4.Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics used in detector systems.
5.Familiarity with MCA, DAQ systems, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies , and radiation measurement instruments.
6.Understanding of pulse processing, spectroscopy, counting systems, and detector calibration .
7.Knowledge of radiation safety practices.
8.Ability to analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
Preferred Skills
1.Experience with gamma spectrometers, neutron survey meters, portal monitors, radiation monitors, isotope identifiers , or similar instruments.
2.Knowledge of simulation or analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, ROOT, GEANT4, MCNP will be an advantage.
3.Experience in product development, QA testing, or field support of nuclear/radiation instruments.
4.Understanding of standards related to radiation detection instruments will be preferred.
