Position: CAM QC Engineer

Position: PCB CAM QC Engineer

Job Summary

The CAM QC Engineer ensures that all CAM data used in PCB manufacturing (Gerber, drill files, CNC programs, toolpaths) is accurate, complete, and compliant with design intent and production standards. This role serves as the critical quality gate between PCB layout output and fabrication execution.

Key Responsibilities

·       Review and validate CAM files (Gerber, ODB++, NC drill, CNC toolpaths) for accuracy and completeness.

·       Verify PCB stack‑ups, drill charts, routing paths, and impedance requirements.

·       Check special processes such as backdrill, blind/buried vias, countersinks, and controlled‑depth drilling.

·       Perform final QC checks before Gerber release, ensuring correct alignment and version control.

·       Ensure compliance with IPC, ISO, and JEDEC standards and validate DFM/DFA requirements.

·       Collaborate with PCB designers, fabrication teams, and test engineers to resolve CAM-related issues.

·       Detect CAM errors (e.g., drill‑to‑copper violations, missing solder mask, overlapping toolpaths) and document findings.

·       Manage CAM data revisions, ECO validation, and file archiving.

·       Support workflow improvement through QC checklists, training, and automation enhancements.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

·       Experience in PCB CAM processes and quality validation.

·       Strong knowledge of Gerber, ODB++, NC drill files, and CAM software.

·       Familiarity with IPC, ISO, and JEDEC standards.

·       Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

·       Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
