Lead Controls & Robotics Engineer
We are seeking a
Lead Controls & Robotics Engineer
to provide technical leadership while designing, developing, and implementing advanced automation solutions integrating machine vision, robotics, and industrial controls. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for leading projects, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering fully integrated automation systems for high-speed manufacturing and production environments.
What You'll Do

Lead and mentor Controls, Robotics, and Vision Engineers while providing technical direction throughout project execution.

Manage engineering resources, project priorities, and technical deliverables to ensure successful project completion.

Design and program machine vision systems for inspection, measurement, and verification.

Integrate vision systems with PLCs, robotics, HMIs, and custom automation equipment.

Develop vision-guided robotic applications for high-speed manufacturing environments.

Configure and optimize cameras, optics, and lighting for maximum reliability and accuracy.

Oversee system commissioning, debugging, FAT/SAT, and customer acceptance testing.

Collaborate with engineering, controls, manufacturing, and customer teams to deliver turnkey automation solutions.

Troubleshoot and optimize controls, robotics, and vision performance in production environments.

Drive engineering best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement across automation projects.
Technical Environment

Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence, Matrox Imaging

Robotics: ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Denso
-
Controls: PLCs, HMIs, Industrial Networks

Programming: C/C++ and/or JavaScript
-
Applications: 2D/3D Vision, Barcode/OCR, Inspection & Verification Systems
Qualifications
-
B.S. Engineering or other.
-
7+ years of experience with industrial controls, robotics, machine vision, and systems integration.

Prior experience leading engineering teams, technical projects, or mentoring engineers.

Strong background in industrial automation and controls engineering.

Experience within OEM, automation integration, or custom machine build environments preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and customer-facing skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and engineering priorities simultaneously.
-
Ability to travel 25%.
Compensation & Benefits

$100,000 – $130,000+ (based on experience) + Bonus
