Lab Robotics Engineer
Discover International is partnered with an innovative Biotechnology company seeking a Lab Robotics Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of robotics, software, and laboratory automation to help scale critical laboratory operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and supporting automated systems used within a high-throughput laboratory environment, working closely with both scientific and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities

Develop Python-based software for robotic platforms and laboratory instrumentation

Design, build, and deploy automation solutions using embedded hardware and custom components

Collaborate with scientists to automate and optimize laboratory workflows

Support and maintain distributed robotic systems across multiple operational sites

Develop monitoring, telemetry, and quality-control tools to ensure system reliability
Requirements
-
Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline

3+ years of Python development experience

Prior experience working in a laboratory or scientific environment

Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling systems

Familiarity with Linux environments and embedded devices such as Raspberry Pi

Experience with containerization, cloud infrastructure, or deployment tools is advantageous

Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

AWS, Terraform, Docker, or Ansible

CAD software and/or 3D printing

Computer vision technologies
