The research programme represents a collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at the newly established Imperial Global Singapore (IGS).

Given the span of the IN-CYPHER programme, we are seeking motivated researchers and engineers to join the IN-CYPHER programme. Unique in its scope, we are developing technologies that span embedded systems, and the protocols used to control and communicate sensitive patient information, all the way up to interventional devices and systems for personalised healthcare.

We are particularly looking for an IC Design Researcher or Engineer with the following backgrounds:

Digital IC Design

Analog IC Design

Mixed Signal IC Design

We are seeking candidates with drive and passion to be self-motivated innovators, at TRL levels from 0 through to 3. Candidates with strong publication profiles are particularly welcome, but a willingness to assimilate the complexities of working with innovators of healthcare technology and patient data, and to work as part of a diverse team, are critical. A willingness to contribute and lead on the production of high-quality research outputs is also essential.

What you would be doing :

  • Take initiatives in conducting and planning own scientific/engineering work with appropriate supervision
  • Identify and develop suitable techniques for the analysis of data
  • Maintain highly organised and accurate record of work
  • Maintain and promote the highest standards of scientific integrity
  • Actively participate in all aspects of the research programme of IN-CYPHER
  • Report research activities both internally and externally
  • Present findings to colleagues and at national/international conferences
  • Publish in high quality refereed journals
  • Collaborate with scientific, clinical and translation partners, to translate research ideas into real-world application and/or positive societal impact
  • Attend relevant workshops as necessary
  • Develop contacts and research collaborations within IGS, Imperial, NTU and the wider community
  • Promote the positive reputation of IGS, IN-CYPHER Programme
  • Contribute to the writing of grant proposals to secure funding for the research program
  • Participate in group research meetings and internal seminars
  • Contribute to the smooth running of IN-CYPHER and other programmes under IGS
  • Assist in the supervision of undergraduate interns, postgraduate research students and research assistants as required
  • Comply with IGS’ and CREATE practices and to attend courses on safety when appropriate
  • Any other duties as may be deemed reasonable by scientific and operations managers of IGS, IN-CYPHER and scientific investigators of the relevant Themes.

What we are looking for :

  • At Research Engineering level: good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • At Research Fellow level: a PhD (or equivalent) in a closely related discipline
  • Experience of applying skills relevant to one or more of the advertised positions in a research/production environment
  • Experience in analysis, interpretation and visualisation of scientific data
  • Knowledge of methods relevant to one or more of the advertised positions
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and prioritise work in response to deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively, as part of a large, distributed team, potentially across different time-zones
  • Discipline and regard for confidentiality and security

The job descriptions for each role contain detailed person specifications.

What we can offer you:

  • Interdisciplinary research environment with access to domain expertise ranging from cyber-security over AI, electrical engineering, to clinical practice
  • Extensive resources to support your work (e.g., CAD tools, GPU servers, wet lab space)
  • Research with impact – we are directly addressing the needs of multiple local stakeholders which are representative of the global developments
  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity
  • Attractive remuneration package in Singapore’s low income tax environment
  • CREATE - A worldwide unique location, that brings together world’s best universities under one roof
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources designed to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
