Job Description

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a a Hardware Engineer to support critical data center operations and infrastructure projects in a large-scale enterprise environment. This individual will be responsible for supporting data center hardware deployments, structured cabling infrastructure, operational troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and ongoing maintenance of mission-critical systems.



The ideal candidate will have experience working in data center environments, supporting network and server infrastructure, performing hardware installations, and maintaining physical Layer 1 connectivity. Candidates with Data Center, Network Infrastructure, Telecommunications, or IT Operations experience are highly encouraged to apply.




This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities
  • Respond to onsite operational issues, incidents, and infrastructure risks in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network connectivity, and data center infrastructure issues
  • Support server, storage, and network equipment installations, moves, reconfigurations, and decommissions
  • Coordinate and escort vendors performing onsite infrastructure work
  • Support structured cabling projects involving copper and fiber optic infrastructure
  • Assist with data center power-down events, facility upgrades, and infrastructure changes
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and infrastructure documentation
  • Support capacity planning, asset management, and operational readiness activities
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and technical documentation efforts
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, and subject matter experts on infrastructure projects
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Networking, Telecommunications, or related field; equivalent experience considered
  • 1+ years of experience supporting data center environments or network infrastructure
  • Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, and hardware deployment activities
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN, SAN, servers, storage, firewalls, and networking fundamentals
  • Understanding of data center standards and structured cabling practices
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
  • 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, or maintaining complex data center environments
  • Data center or networking certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or BICSI
  • Experience with fiber optic cabling, rack deployments, and physical infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, CDP, ICMP)
  • Experience supporting data center power, cooling, and facility infrastructure
  • Exposure to automation, APIs, or infrastructure integration projects

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $30.00 and $39.00 . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
