Position Overview:

KODA Technologies is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Flight Software Systems Engineer to support the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Accelerator (MACH-XL 26) program. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining SysML/UML models to include architecture, requirements, and specifications for embedded, real-time flight software and ground control software. The candidate will also be integrating, verifying, and validating software systems, ensuring seamless interaction between flight software, ground systems, avionics, and simulation environments. The role requires close collaboration with software developers, systems engineers, avionics teams, and mission operations personnel. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, prototype and demonstration program focusing on affordable near-hypersonic and hypersonic all-up-rounds (AURs) and flexible launcher platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SysML/UML models to include architecture and requirements and specifications for embedded, real-time flight software and ground control software.
  • Integrate models into system functional models.
  • Support system development as an architect to include requirements management, configuration management, data management, risk management, etc.
  • Develop and maintain system of interest functional and logical models.
  • Ensure traceability between software requirements, verification artifacts, and test results
  • Develop user guides, training, demonstrations, and other resources to promote the expansion of model-based systems engineering
  • Participate in software system requirements reviews and in creating and/or updating requirement specifications and qualification models


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in MBSE, software development, and/or Systems Engineering for aerospace, defense, or embedded systems
  • Working knowledge of SysML and MBSE tools such as Magic Draw/Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, DOORS, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of architecture, requirements engineering, verification, test, and system integration
  • Understanding of system interface requirements and requirements management through SysML models
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded software development
  • Familiarity with Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) software integration environment
  • Familiarity with software Verification & Validation (V&V) processes
  • Familiarity with Software Integration Planning and Software Development Planning
  • Experience working in an Agile Software development process
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
