About The Role

Firmware Test Engineer

As a Firmware Test Engineer, you will be the face of Sibros to our customers—ensuring our products deliver flawlessly in the field while solving complex real-world problems.
This is not just a testing job—it’s a launchpad. You’ll work hands-on with firmware, software, vehicle platforms, and cutting-edge automotive technologies that power next-generation connected vehicles. You’ll travel to customer sites, sit in vehicles, plug into ECUs, analyze logs, debug issues, and see your work directly impact customer success.

What You’ll Do
Validation & Testing
-
Execute manual and automated test procedures on customer vehicles, benches, and HIL setups.

Perform sanity, regression, and full-volume testing for product releases.

Capture and analyze logs, maintain test traceability, and identify bugs with precision.

Automate test cases to accelerate validation cycles.
-
Collaborate with product, firmware, and software teams to design scalable test processes.
-
Travel onsite (OEMs, service centers, field tests) to validate products directly in vehicles.
Customer-Facing Support
-
Respond to L1 support tickets raised through support channels, customer teams, or emails
-
Triage issues using logs and tools, and reproduce customer-reported problems

Coordinate with Customer teams to support L2 technical investigations and respond

Prepare and deliver weekly reports or summaries of support activity to customer
-
Travel to customer locations for on-bench or vehicle-based issue reproduction, debugging, and validation
-
Maintain timely and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding issue status and resolution
-
Provide on-the-ground debugging and validation support at customer locations.

Represent Sibros with professionalism and technical depth in every customer interaction.
What You Should Know
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Pune-based and willing to travel on short notice as needed
-
Possess a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
-
Fluency in English. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Hands-on experience with testing in the automotive industry
-
Experience in using and/or setting up hardware-based test systems.
-
Experience with any scripting/programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar.

Experience in working with hardware-based test systems.
-
Experience testing frontend UI and backend API elements of web portals
-
Working knowledge of CAN (Controller Area Network) on automobiles and various CAN-based tools like Vector/Busmaster
-
Exposure to automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
-
Understanding of RESTful APIs, debugging tools, and CI/CD systems
-
Basics of Linux shell commands
