Mid-Level Embedded Firmware Engineer

Location: Waynesboro, VA (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time


About the Role

We're looking for a Mid-Level Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Engineering Services team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in embedded systems who enjoys working closely with hardware, developing firmware, and solving real-world engineering challenges.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++
  • Design and implement software for ARM-based embedded systems
  • Develop low-level drivers and interface with hardware peripherals
  • Work with communication protocols such as CAN, RS-485, and Ethernet
  • Debug firmware and hardware issues using tools like JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development process


Required Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of Embedded Firmware/Embedded Software experience
  • Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++
  • Experience with ARM Cortex microcontrollers
  • Experience with Bare-Metal or RTOS environments
  • Hands-on hardware debugging and board-level bring-up
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with STM32 microcontrollers
  • Motor control, robotics, automotive, industrial controls, or avionics experience
  • Embedded Linux experience
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems
