Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, weâre the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain â and weâre looking for talented people who want to help.
Youâll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Youâll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And youâll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Key job responsibilities
The AWS Rack Power team is driving rapid innovation in the power systems used by Amazon Web Services. Our designs are fundamentally changing the data center, providing operational and financial benefits that are critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers. We design and build power equipment used by Amazon.com and AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, and Outpost. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry.
A day in the life
What you will do: As a member of the Power Engineering team you will own the source code for firmware running the power electronics for our next generation datacenter hardware. Youâll provide leadership in the application of new technologies to enable large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience. You will be a firmware subject matter expert in an engineering team responsible for both new product development as well as product sustaining and support. You will write, test, debug and ensure the control of firmware across a global fleet of equipment and delight our customers while doing it. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and youâll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. Youâll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and youâll be constantly looking for ways to improve your products performance, quality and cost.
