ADVANS Portugal is looking to expand our Emulation team, working in the semiconductor industry in our new Lisbon offices.

Context:

The team is involved with creating and running complex use cases and scenarios for systems and sub-systems that are the core of today's CPU, AI, graphics, Cloud, server, communications technologies.
The team is composed of both hardware and software (embedded, firmware) engineers.
We base all our work on state of the art EDA tools from Cadence, Synopsys and Siemens EDA (formaly Mentor Graphics): Palladium, ZeBu, Veloce.

For engineers with hardware background; what we expect you will bring?

Academic and/or industry experience in the field of hardware engineering in design and/or verification with knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog and digital logic design principles, e.g. with FPGA technology.
Academic and/or industry experience in high-performance microprocessor architecture concepts, communications, graphics, AI.

For engineers with software, firmware background; what we expect you will bring?

Academic and/or industry experience with programming in C, C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.

Engineering profile required:

An engineering degree in computer science, electrical and electronics engineering or similar.
Experience in writing sustainable/maintainable quality code.
Ability to debug, root cause, and resolve issues spanning multiple subsystems.
Proven ability to own problems and drive them to a resolution.
Understanding of computer architecture/microarchitecture concepts.
Good communications skills, both verbal and writing.
Innovative mindset focused on solving problems.
Knowledge of EDA tools such as simulators is a plus: Cadence, Synopsys or Siemens EDA (formerly Mentor Graphics).
