Job Description

Are you passionate about wireless communication software development for embedded systems? Do you want to be part of developing future connectivity solutions? Are you ready to take on an important role in the firmware development in an innovative and high-tech organization?

Here Is What The Job Entails

As our Embedded Wireless Software Developer, you will be responsible for end-to-end software development from concept specification to implementation and production. In close collaboration with product managers and production sites, you will ensure the development of high-quality, long-lasting products by driving the hardware development process forward.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Developing energy optimized software for battery applications
  • Working with state-of-the-art low-power wireless communications, such as LoRa and cellular NB-IoT + LTE-M.
  • Creating robust software for long-term operation without service
  • Following tasks from specification to release and ensuring quality in all aspects of the solution
  • Participating in project-oriented development processes

In this role, you will have the chance to shape the future of smart water metering solutions where your embedded software skills directly contribute to developing reliable and innovative products.

Meet your future team

With formal reference to the Director of Connectivity, you will join the department Connectivity - Water, which consists of more than 15 experienced and motivated employees with backgrounds in hardware, software, and engineering. Together, we are responsible for developing connectivity solutions for meters across the Kamstrup product range and business units, collaborating across disciplines to create quality products. In your day-to-day work, you will be part of a smaller project team of three to six people. The working environment is informal, with a strong focus on open dialogue and professional development.

Did you know? We are a department with very diverse hobbies, ranging from sword fighting and Zwift cycling to bouldering, DJ’ing, and coffee brewing.

Less About Us, More About You

We are looking for an Embedded Wireless Software Developer who is motivated by building reliable products and enjoys solving complex challenges in a simple and robust way. With your curiosity and interest in software development and wireless communication, you will thrive in this role.

In order to succeed, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a degree in Software, Electronics Engineering, or similar
  • Bring a few years of experience and solid skills in C while being familiar with Python
  • Have a basic understanding of embedded development and wireless communication
  • Work independently in a structured and analytical way
  • Are comfortable challenging the status quo through collaboration and knowledge sharing

As we are an international organization it is important that you are fluent in English and Danish.

Whilst you may not meet all the qualifications listed above, you could still be a good candidate for the position. If you find the role intriguing, do not hesitate to apply.

We are more than an ordinary workplace

We cherish the good colleagueship which we all contribute to, the only limit is your engagement. As we are a big organization you are bound to find one or more colleagues who share the same interest as you. This might be in our board game club, on our cycling team, during our yearly summer festival, or on the padel court. For example, our Team lead, Service Delivery is also our volunteer padel instructor while one of our Software Test Engineers run weekly spinning classes.

Besides the best colleagues you could imagine, we also offer:
